St Cyprian's Art Academy in Langa

The site is situated in the heart of Langa Township and enjoys beautiful views toward Table Mountain. It is situated adjacent to the St. Cyprians Anglican Church, which is along Papu Road.

The proposed Academy has been developed as a campus of building divided into three components:

Academic component

Provides for teaching spaces and workshops; seminar rooms; admin and catering facilities, located primarily along Lerotolo Street

This component has been developed as 3 independent block buildings accommodating the various art departments:

• Block A: Dance; Poetry & Creative Writing

• Block B: Fine Arts; Beading & Pottery

• Block C: Music; Magic school, Drumming etc.

Performance & Exhibition Component

Performance Hall/Community facility adjacent to a large open air performance area and courtyard space with open air stage. This north facing space is adjacent to the St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church

Residential Component/Artist studios

To accommodate resident and visiting students. This is being proposed as a possible Phase 2 development which could also be an additional revenue stream for the facility.
